Basement Martin saw his first woodturning demonstration in June, 2007 and rushed home to set up a workshop in his basement. Starting with a Jet Mini, he later added a Nova DVR XP, the biggest lathe he could get down the stairs!

The basement measures 14' x 11" x 6'2" and provides a nice all-year temperature of 65-72oF. This space is shared with the water heater, central-air system, and a large number of boxes of "things" that my daughter cannot fit into her 600 sq. ft. Manhattan apartment.
Garage Of course, there isn't enough room in the basement, so the garage became the shop annex. Here you will find a bandsaw, tablesaw, chainsaw, and drum sander. The wood piles contain persimmon, podocarpus, and sycamore harvested in 2007; cherry and camphor of unknown vintage; black walnut cut in 2007; peach, black walnut, and carob cut in July 2009.
